DLNR DIVISION OF FORESTRY AND WILDLIFE INVITES REVIEW AND COMMENT ON THE DRAFT TANTALUS-ROUND TOP DRIVE CORRIDOR MANAGEMENT PLAN
April 10, 2019
HONOLULU – The Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Division of Forestry and Wildlife (DOFAW), in partnership with local planning firm Planning Solutions, Inc. has developed a Draft Tantalus-Round Top Drive Corridor Management Plan (Draft TRTD-CMP) to preserve and enhance the scenic, historic, and natural features of the Tantalus-Round Top Drive area.
The Draft TRTD-CMP is focused on the roadway and the adjacent state-owned forest lands managed by DOFAW. It also seeks to facilitate greater cooperation among land management agencies, private organizations, and concerned members of the public by describing management challenges, providing recommendations to address them, and identifying specific steps and implementation responsibilities. When finalized, the Plan will help guide coordinated management and enhancement of the area.
The Draft TRTD-CMP can be downloaded using the link below. The Plan builds on previous work by state and county agencies, and the community. It is currently in draft form, and DOFAW hopes all who are interested will review the current draft and provide comments. These comments will be reviewed and considered as DOFAW finalizes the Plan.
The 60-day review period for the Draft TRTD-CMP will run from April 10, 2019 through June 10, 2019. All comments received will be considered and reproduced in full in the Final TRTD-CMP. DOFAW asks that you provide your comments in writing to our planning consultant at:
